Deon Lendore, Olympian And Texas A&M Track Coach, Dies In A Car Accident
According to NBC Sports Analyst Ato Boldon, the 29-year-old Deon Lendore died in a car crash. Deon was an Olympian and a young aspiring student who had his bright life ahead of him.
The report made by the Texas Department of Public Safety noted that Deon was driving a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan, heading westbound on FM 485. On the other hand, an Infiniti SUV was making its way east. Deon side-swiped the SUV as he crossed the centerline in his Volkswagen Jetta Sedan. Lendore’s Sedan proceeded westbound, drifting past the center stripe and colliding head-on with the Infiniti.
The unfortunate accident resulted in the death of the Deon. According to DPS, Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Greg Hoelscher pronounced Lendore deceased on the scene.
Deon Lendore was helping his fellow athletes to push and compete in major tournaments. He was always keen to guide and assist those who were involved in the training along with him. Lendore was an integral part of the A&M’s Track and Field program. He worked and volunteered as an assistant coach, alongside student-athletes. He had a huge impact on his fellow athletes during his stint in the Track and Field program.
Lendore graduated from Texas A&M University in the year 2015. Lendore put in the effort and was always focused on making everyone around him proud during his tenure as a student-athlete at Texas A&M. Lendore competed in three Olympic Games during his time as a student-athlete at Texas A&M, thanks to his hard work and devotion
In the 2012 London Olympics, Deon Lendore proudly represented Trinidad and Tobago. He managed to win and secure bronze in the 4x400m event at the London Olympics and made everyone proud.
