Valsartan
Were you or a loved one diagnosed with cancer after using recalled Valsartan or Valsartan HCTZ?
Between 2015 and late 2018, some generic versions of the hypertension drugs valsartan and valsartan HCTZ were distributed that contained toxic impurities, which medical studies have indicated may increase the risk of cancer.
Valsartan lawsuits are being pursued for individuals diagnosed with:
- Colorectal Cancer
- Intestinal Cancer
- Stomach or Gastric Cancer
- Liver Cancer
- Esophageal Cancer
- Prostate Cancer
- Bladder Cancer
Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma or Leukemia
Valsartan cancer lawsuits are being filed by individuals after it was discovered that many of the generic versions of the popular blood pressure drug were contaminated with N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a known carcinogen that can increase the risk of liver, colorectal, stomach, and other forms of cancer.
Concerns over the cancer risks caused by Valsartan were first raised in 2018, after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced recalls of the drug following the discovery that changes in the manufacturing processes of the active pharmaceutical ingredient led to NDMA contamination.
While the contamination was first detected in 2018, potentially contaminated Valsartan products had been on the market since as early as 2012, exposing thousands of individuals to the cancer-causing impurity.
As a result, individual valsartan cancer lawsuits and valsartan class action lawsuits are now being filed against the pharmaceutical companies claiming their use of contaminated valsartan drugs caused them to develop cancer.
If you or a loved one have been adversely affected after using Valsartan, do not hesitate to call Brent Coon & Associates today at (409) 222-2222 for a free, no obligation consultation. We can help you take legal actions and file a potential claim.
