A 45-year-old man was reported killed in the aftermath of his car hitting the back of the tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer crash on I-24, South Nashville, happened on Thursday, May 6.

The collision reportedly took place after midnight in the eastbound lanes of I-24 at I-440.

The officers said the tractor-trailer had slowed down because of the construction work at the Interstate, and that is when he was hit from behind by a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta. The police also informed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt while driving. The cause of the tractor-trailer crash on I-24 is under investigation.

Due to the accident, all the eastbound lanes were closed for more than three hours and were reopened at around 3:30 am. Even in the late hours, the traffic was a bit affected due to the accident and investigation underway.

Another accident was reported a day earlier in Clarksville. According to the reports, this was again a car crash on Peachers Mill Road and Tiny Town Road, and a woman was killed in the aftermath.
