Brent Coon & Associates Announces International Expansion

Launches Expansive Hispanic Program and New Offices in Mexico City

Brent Coon & Associates is excited to announce the expansion of our Houston- based office into full service legal representation to the Hispanic and Latino community and the opening of an office in Mexico City.  This segment of our population continues to grow and now comprises the second largest demographic in the United States.   For many who speak English as a second language, dealing with the U.S. legal system can be unimaginably difficult.  Spanish law is much different that U.S. law in many respects, and most courts have not expanded access to citizens who are not fluent in English.  Likewise, there are few Spanish speaking law firms to service this community which results in some additional degree of exploitation to these vulnerabilities. This includes predatory employment practices and misguidance by the insurance industry.  Corporations who will knowingly risk the safety of the public they know can’t speak up to defend themselves.

The attorneys at BCA are always reinvesting in major initiatives to help those who need legal services but don’t know how to ask for and get the help they need.  BCA has established a fully bi-lingual legal department in the Houston office to assist with these communication barriers and the department is being undertaken by Azarel Medina, who joined the firm at the beginning of 2024. He will be leading a new team focusing on motor vehicle accidents and other ‘single-event’ personal injuries.  He will also be spearheading an outreach program to become more involved with the local Hispanic population in Texas and tackle the issues that are directly affecting them.

BCA has also partnered with RRC Abogados, an established branch of BCA in Mexico City, who’s founder, Nathan Russek, will be ‘of counsel’ here in Texas.  They hope that this will help expand our effectiveness in assisting the Hispanic population across the continent.  This will also help us address the needs of people in the U.S. who still have families facing legal issues in Mexico, both individually and in the business community.

Brent Coon, the founder of BCA, said “I have traveled extensively through Mexico for the last 40 years and even acquired a residence down in the Baja region several years ago and run some other business ventures there.  It has been a pleasure integrating into the culture of Mexico and its people as friends, neighbors and employer.  We look forward to teaming up with the law firm of RRC Abogados in Mexico City to provide a bridge of access between our two countries for the benefit of clients both here in the U.S. as well as in Mexico.  Our southern neighbor is our biggest tourism trade partner and a major economic ally.”

RRC Abogados has made it their mission to defend the fundamental rights of their clients through the judicial proceedings specifically designed for such purposes.  With more than 15 years of experience, they have successfully promoted lawsuits before the different federal authorities of Mexico, including the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation.   They offer comprehensive legal and strategic advice tailored to navigate the complex landscape of government regulations, legislative processes, and affairs with governmental bodies and public companies.

Attorney Nathan Russek of RRC Abogados had this to say, “We are excited about this partnership and look forward to using the combined strengths of our law firms to reach an even wider range of people in need of legal help.”

Brent Coon and his law firm have entrenched themselves as a national presence for decades by protecting the rights of workers in the petrochemical and transportation industries and have designated counsel status to both industries labor unions, including the Teamsters and the United Steelworkers.    Winning ‘Lawyer of the Year’ for his work on the “BP Texas City Explosion” case, Brent Coon is regularly seen on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, FOX and almost all other mainstream media outlets and is considered the “expert’s expert” on many facets of injury and tort law.  BCA has passionately defended the people of Texas from abusive corporation behavior in working with the DOJ and various state attorney generals to prosecute serious safety violations in heavy industries and has worked with numerous legislatures, including Congress, in facilitating tougher laws on safety in the workplace.  That passion to right wrongs here and abroad has led the firm to these overtures into Mexico and with their great people.
