Brent Coon files lawsuit stemming from chemical release in Orange County
Orange County — Brent Coon & Associates law firm filed the first of a number of lawsuits stemming from the railroad car chemical release in Orange County that sent more than 30 people to hospitals.
The Orange County Emergency Management Office says ethyl acrylate was released in controlled flaring from a railcar Thursday at the Eagle Railcar site on Foreman Road.
It led to a shelter-in-place request for residents of West Orange, Bridge City and Orangefield, and the closure of FM 1006. The shelter was lifted by 8 p.m.
