Hit-and-Run Kills 74-Year Old Texas Motorcyclist

Sources report that a 19-year-old driving a 2017 model Mazda couldn’t stop at the stop sign and crashed into a 74 years old Texas motorcyclist who lost his life later.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating a motorcyclist’s fatal crash, which took place on Tuesday morning. The initial scrutiny stipulated that the crash occurred on U.S. 90 at the intersection of Main Lane at 9:45 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021.

Investigators believe that the driver of a 2017 model Mazda was traveling north on Main Lane. The driver failed to halt at a stop sign and smashed into a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was traveling east on U.S. 90. This happened in Jefferson county, a county in the Coastal Plain or Gulf Prairie region of Southeast Texas. There is no confirmation of eye-witnesses from the department.

The driver of the Mazda, identified as 19-year-old Isabella Guy, from Kountze, fled after hitting the Texas motorcyclist but was found a short time later. She failed to remain at the scene but was caught a little later. A case of hit and run was filed against him. The driver and her co-passenger didn’t have any injuries and were reported safe after the crash.

The motorcyclist, identified as 74-year-old Kenneth Weaver, sustained severe injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later. He was declared dead on Thursday, Sept 9, 2021, after fighting hard for his life. Weaver lived in China, Texas.

The case is under investigation—no further information at this time.
