Brent Coon Named Litigator of the Week By Texas Lawyer
Brent Coon & Associates is proud to announce that BCA founder Brent Coon has been honored as Litigator of the Week by Texas Lawyer. This latest award for Mr. Coon comes on the heels of a $7,000,000 verdict against the Houston Independent School District (HISD). Mr. Coon is honored to receive this prestigious award.
A Houston State District Court jury unanimously concluded after a 5 week trial that HISD owed a Houston area contractor over $7 Million in damages and legal fees as a result of multiple breaches of construction contracts emanating from a 2007 school bond program. The jury also unanimously concluded that HISD was entitled to nothing on any of their multiple counterclaims against the contractor, their bonding agent and a third party for over $13 Million dollars.
