Plaintiff Wins Personal Injury Trial in Hardin County

National law firm, Brent Coon & Associates, received a positive jury verdict in a suit against Progressive Insurance. The suit was on behalf of Karen Kiesling who was injured in a car accident. Just two days after receiving plastic surgery, Ms. Kiesling was rear-ended while pulling into her driveway. The accident caused severe soreness and scarring. The suit sought recovery for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering.

The trial took place in Hardin County with the Honorable Judge Plunk residing. Over the course of four days, the jury heard testimony from Ms. Kiesling, medical experts and police officers from the scene of the accident. When the jury deemed that Ms. Kiesling’s scarring was the result of the accident, they awarded her $70,000, seven times the medical bills and nearly three times the amount Progressive Insurance had offered as a settlement prior to going to court. Based on previous records, Hardin County tends to be somewhat conservative and reluctant to award significant settlements, so this particular outcome marks a big win for the plaintiff and Brent Coon & Associates.
