News Story - Rio De Janeiro, Brazil September 29, 2006 On its voyage from Manaus to Rio De Janeiro, Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907 disappeared from radar while flying over the Amazon. The crash was caused by a mid-air collision with an American Embraer Legacy business jet. Gol transportes Aéreos confirmed a crew of six employees, and a passenger list that included: 144 Brazilians, an American, German, French and Portuguese who all tragically lost their lives. Officials and media are calling this catastrophe “Brazil’s worst-ever disaster.” The Embraer Legacy business jet was operated by ExcelAire Service, Inc, a Ronkonkoma, New York company. No one on the corporate jet was reported injured. |
